MoreSports4Me · Effective 22 April 2026 · Last updated 22 April 2026
TL;DR: MoreSports4Me helps you coordinate local pickup sports with your friends and groups. We collect only what we need to make that work — your account info, the groups and events you participate in, your general home location for finding nearby games, and a push token so we can notify you about new events. We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. You can delete your account and all your data from inside the app at any time.
1. Who we are
MoreSports4Me ("we", "us", "the app") is a mobile application that helps groups of friends organize local pickup sports events. The app is operated by Don Wieland, a sole developer based in the United States. Contact: dwdata2000@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
Email address — used to create and secure your account, deliver password resets, and contact you about your account. Required.
Username (display name) — visible to other members of groups you belong to. Required.
Avatar photo (optional) — if you upload one, it's stored on our infrastructure and visible to other members of your groups.
General home location — we ask for a ZIP/postal code and country to suggest nearby groups. We derive an approximate latitude/longitude from that input using Google's geocoding service. We do not collect precise or continuous device location.
Authentication identifiers — if you sign in with Apple or Google, we store the identifier those services return so you can sign back in. We do not receive your password.
2.2 Content you create
Groups you create, join, or are invited to, and your role in those groups (owner, admin, member).
Events you create or RSVP to, including your arrival time ("ETA") and any note you attach.
Messages you send in group chat, direct messages, event notes, pinned announcements, surveys, and survey discussion threads.
Survey votes you cast. If the survey creator chose "anonymous voting," your name is not shown next to your vote in the app (but the vote itself is still stored and associated with your account for audit purposes).
Items you add or claim on a "punch list" (e.g. potluck sign-ups).
Photos or videos you attach to chat messages or DMs.
2.3 Notification preferences and tokens
A push notification token provided by Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM) via the Expo push service, so we can send you event and chat notifications.
Your notification category preferences (e.g. whether you want event reminders, chat pings, etc.) and your quiet-hours settings.
2.4 Bug reports and diagnostics
If you tap the in-app "bug report" icon and submit a report, we receive:
The description you type.
The optional screenshot you attach (if any).
A small diagnostic bundle: device platform (iOS/Android), OS version, app version, the screen you were on, and a ring-buffer log of the most recent ~25 in-app errors that were already written to the app's local console. We use this information solely to investigate and fix the bug.
Bug reports are not sent unless you explicitly submit one.
2.5 Referral and share-link data
If you install the app via a share link from another member, we record who referred you so that person can see their referral count in their own profile. No other party has access to that linkage.
2.6 What we do NOT collect
Your precise or continuous device location.
Your contacts, calendar, or photo library (except a specific photo you choose to attach).
Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA/AAID).
Payment or financial information. The app is currently free; we don't process purchases.
Data from third parties about you that we could use for advertising or profiling.
3. How we use your information
We use your information only to:
Operate the core features of the app (creating groups, sending and receiving messages, scheduling events, etc.).
Deliver push notifications you've opted in to.
Show you nearby groups and events based on your general home location.
Maintain an activity log within each group so admins have an audit trail of what happened (e.g. who cancelled an event, who changed a role).
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, or profiling. We do not sell your personal information.
4. How we share your information
4.1 With other users
Your username, avatar, and content you create in a group (messages, RSVPs, votes, etc.) are visible to other members of that group. That's the point of the app.
4.2 With infrastructure providers
We use a small number of service providers to run the app. Each receives only the minimum data needed for its function.
Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, file storage (for avatars, bug-report screenshots, media you send in chat), and realtime syncing. All data-at-rest is encrypted. See Supabase's privacy policy.
Expo Push Notifications / Apple APNs / Google FCM — dispatches push notifications to your device. The push body (e.g. "Don posted a note in Wednesday VBall") travels through these services. See Expo's privacy policy, Apple's, and Google's.
Google Maps & Google Places — geocodes ZIP codes you enter and renders maps for event locations you view. See Google's privacy policy.
Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple — used only if you choose those login options. See the respective policies linked above.
4.3 Legal disclosures
We may disclose information if required by a valid legal process (e.g. a court order) or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MoreSports4Me, our users, or the public. We will attempt to notify affected users when we are legally permitted to do so.
4.4 Business transfers
If MoreSports4Me is ever acquired or merged with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any new owner will be bound by the commitments in this policy unless you consent to a change.
5. Push notifications
We send push notifications only for events and activity you've opted in to. You can adjust which categories (chat, event reminders, announcements, etc.) you want at any time in Profile → Notifications. You can also disable push notifications entirely at the OS level via your phone's Settings, and you can set quiet-hours windows inside the app to silence pushes during certain times.
6. Your choices and rights
Regardless of where you live, you can:
Access your data — the app itself shows you your profile, messages, and group memberships.
Correct your data — edit your display name, home location, and avatar anytime in Profile.
Delete your account — tap Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, memberships, RSVPs, messages, push tokens, and all data tied to your account. Certain group audit-log entries (e.g. "Don cancelled this event") may be preserved in the group's activity log with your name redacted, so other members' audit trails remain intact. Group-level content you authored that other members may have relied on (public event notes, chat messages) may remain visible to those members unless you delete it manually before deletion, or unless an admin of that group removes it.
Withdraw consent — stop using the app. You can delete it from your device at any time.
Contact us — email dwdata2000@gmail.com with any questions or requests about your data.
6.1 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you're a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. MoreSports4Me does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any of your rights, email us at the address above.
6.2 European/UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the GDPR (or equivalent) including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing. Our legal basis for processing is generally (a) performance of our service to you (contract), (b) our legitimate interest in operating and improving the app, or (c) your consent (for optional features like push notifications). To exercise any right, email us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Data retention
We retain your account and associated content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data promptly (typically within 30 days), with limited exceptions:
Backups are retained on our standard backup cycle and purged within 90 days.
Audit-log entries referencing group-level actions you performed may be kept with your name redacted, to preserve other members' legitimate audit trail.
We may retain limited records as required by law (e.g. to respond to a legal request).
8. Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest for stored data, scoped access controls (each user sees only the data they're authorized to see, enforced at the database level), and limited administrative access. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever learn of a breach that affects your data, we will notify affected users as required by law.
9. SMS and text messaging
When you provide your mobile phone number in the MoreSports4Me app, we may send you transactional SMS messages, primarily one-time verification codes used to authenticate sign-up and sign-in. Each message is triggered by a single user action in the app.
Message frequency. SMS messages are sent only at your request. Typical frequency is 1-3 messages per user per day, only during sign-up or sign-in attempts. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS.
Mobile numbers are not shared. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile numbers are used only to deliver verification codes and are never sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties for their own marketing.
Carrier charges. Message and data rates may apply, based on your carrier's plan. You are responsible for any such charges.
Opt-out. You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for support information.
10. Children's privacy
MoreSports4Me is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. International users and data transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you access the app from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms to protect such transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Your continued use of the app after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
